Torrential rains flooded some Dallas roads overnight Friday and into Saturday morning, forcing police to close several roads to keep drivers from stalling in high water.
The driver of an SUV found himself stalled near Luna Road and X Street in Dallas Saturday morning. Paul Nelson said his car slid off the road and into a ditch full of water.
"It just wouldn't move after that," Nelson said. "There was a lot of water."
It was similar scene on South Buckner Boulevard, near U.S. Route 175. Dallas officers closed one lane and were seen diverting traffic over several hours Saturday.
For Dallas, much of the rain had let up Saturday afternoon, though the risk for rain showers was forecast to increase in overnight hours.
