Tish Davis is back at home, arriving Tuesday afternoon to family and friends.
Davis was one of 23 injured during a crash at the popular South By Southwest music festival in Austin. Three people were also killed in that crash early Thursday morning.
She told NBC 5's Scott Gordon she doesn't remember the accident. Her first memory is waking up in the hospital holding her grandmother's hands.
"We was all walking next to each other and suddenly and all of the sudden we all got split up... You know who I woke up to? I woke up next to my granny," said Davis. " She was holding my hands. I was thinking, 'What happened to me? Why am I here?' I just can't believe they would hit me. And I've been through a lot of stuff."
Davis suffered a broken leg and had stitches in her face and head. She attends Trimble Tech High School in Fort Worth.
Classmates said Davis is a ball of energy and they're already feeling the loss without her in class right now.
"I miss her, I hope she gets back soon. My prayers are going out to her," said friend Tiana Robinson.
Davis’ boyfriend, Dre Tatum, graduated from Trimble Tech last year. Tatum is still in a medically-induced coma in an Austin hospital. On Tuesday Davis said she didn't want to talk about Tatum.
Many students are close friends with him too. "It’s a disappointment spring break had to end like this," Johnson said.
