It's not clear how many people are in the barricaded home.

Several homes were evacuated in a Hurst neighborhood Thursday due to a man's standoff with SWAT officers.

The man barricaded himself inside a home on the 900 block of Park Forest Drive when the Tarrant County Sheriff's Department arrived to serve a mental detention warrant.

The man told the sheriff's department that he would shoot anyone who tried to come inside, police said. SWAT and the Hurst Police Department were called in to assist in the negotiation.  Just after 1 p.m., the man was taken in to custody without incident, the sheriff's department said.

Bellaire Elementary, which was located a half-mile from the house, was never placed on lockdown though kids were being held from walking home until the standoff was over.
