Dallas police said they shut down Lancaster Road after an SUV struck a utility pole and caused a gas leak and a fire Thursday morning.

Authorities said the SUV struck the pole in the 7500 block of South Lancaster Road at about 3:15 a.m., causing the gas to leak and catch fire.

Police said they interviewed two people who were inside the SUV. Both people were checked by paramedics at the scene.

Oncor and Atmos crews were called in to fix the utilities.

Dallas police blocked the intersection of South Lancaster and East Camp Wisdom roads.
