SBA Offers Help for Texans After Hermine

The Small Business Administration is offering federal disaster help after more than a dozen Texas counties were impacted by September's Tropical Storm Hermine.

Gov. Rick Perry said the assistance is available to Bell, Tarrant and Williamson counties, where disaster loan outreach centers were open Thursday.

Perry said people in neighboring Bastrop, Burnet, Coryell, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Falls, Johnson, Lampasas, Lee, McLennan, Milam, Parker, Travis and Wise counties are also eligible to seek federal assistance.

The governor has estimated Texas suffered more than $13 million in damage from the storm.

Perry's initial request for a federal disaster declaration was denied. Perry then asked for SBA assistance, which he announced was granted Wednesday.
