Robbery, Chase Leads to 3 Crashes

One at large in connection with robbery, chase, police say

Two people have been taken into custody and a third is on the run after a robbery and police chase led to three crashes Friday morning.

The chase began after Cedar Hill police said three people robbed a Shell gas station.

While trying to get away in a Cadillac, the trio were involved in three crashes along U.S. 67.

The first collision took place near 67 and Danieldale Road and involved a minor crash with only one other driver.  The second crash took place near 67 and Cockrell Hill Road and involved four vehicles.  In the second crash, two children and an adult were all hospitalized with minor injuries.

The third crash took place when the driver of the getaway car tried to exit the highway on an entrance ramp.  Going the wrong way, they crashed into an oncoming car near 67 and Gannon Lane in Dallas. That driver was also hospitalized.

At that point, the three tried to get away on foot.  One person was apprehended at the scene while the other two escaped into a nearby apartment complex.

Police and K-9 officers caught up with one of the two in the apartment complex, and took that person into custody.

At this time, the third person remains at large.

None of the people injured in the crashes are believed to have life-threatening injuries.
