Road Rage in Louisiana Lands Texan in Jail

A road rage incident involving a gun on Interstate 20 in Louisiana has landed a Texas man in jail.

State police say the alleged victim was traveling west on I-20 near Minden around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday when the driver of a small pickup began tailgating and making inappropriate hand gestures.

Troopers said the driver of the truck then changed lanes, pulling up alongside the victim and allegedly pointed a handgun.

The Shreveport Times reports 62-year-old Leroy Smith, of Fort Worth, Texas, was booked with aggravated assault. If convicted, Smith faces up to a $1,000 fine and six months in prison.

It was unclear whether he has an attorney.
