A vice chairman for the Collin County Republican Party has come under fire recently for an email many recipients considered racist.
The email, sent last week, contained the phrase, "Another terrific idea from the black house and its minions."
The phrase was contained in a larger email Diann Jones sent to multiple Republican organizations in the area, asking them to stand against a bill that would place a $50 tax on gun sales.
E-mail isn't new anymore, and most people have learned how quickly such words can spread.
But Jones told the Dallas Morning News she did not write the email and had not noticed the racist comment when she forwarded it.
On Tuesday she wrote an apology to those who received it, although the email had already been forwarded on to many more people.
