The North Texas case of the purloined parrot has been solved.
Police say a macaw named Captain Jack was returned Tuesday to Sunrise Automotive owner Bill Salmon.
Hurst police on Nov. 17 received a call about a colorful bird found dumped along a road. Investigators apparently were unaware about the earlier theft of the parrot from an Arlington business.
Arlington police on Monday asked for the public's help in finding Captain Jack, saying the bird was taken during a Nov. 15 burglary.
Hurst animal services officials took custody of the bird until learning that the owner was located.
