Promposal Like No Other

A 17-year-old girl from Glen Rose had a promposal like no other when she was asked to prom by an 8 year old.

Amelie Brewer was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia when she was 6 years old. Since then, she has spent her time in and out of hospitals, beat cancer twice, and has done her part to help other people who are battling cancer.

One day, she came across Nathan Beatty's story on Facebook.

Beatty was diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma, a rare type of brain cancer last year. When Brewer saw his Facebook page, she knew exactly what she needed to do. She asked Nathan's parents if she could take him to prom.

Nathan's parents agreed, but with a small twist. They told Nathan, and he decided to give Amalie a surprise of a lifetime.

A Glen Rose police officer pulled into a parking lot blaring sirens and asked Brewer to walk outside of the store that she was in.

That's when Beatty came from around the corner with flowers, a tiara, and a sign that said, "Will you be my princess at the prom?"

It was Nathan's first chance to ask a girl out. Of course, she said yes.

The two attended prom Saturday at the Somervell County Expo Center.
