Presidential Hopeful Cruz Energized in Iowa

Ahead of the Iowa Caucus Monday night, U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) is in a great mood and is feeling energized.

After two stops Monday, Cruz has now been to all 99 counties in Iowa. When the caucus begins Monday night, there will be a campaign representative at all 1,681 caucus locations across Iowa.

The representatives get to speak to the Republican voters before they cast a secret ballot. Cruz himself will go to a caucus in Cedar Rapids before ending the night at a party at the Iowa State Fairgrounds.

There are 12,000 volunteers on the ground here, 800 of whom are from Texas. Those volunteers made phone calls Monday morning before heading off to their caucus locations.

We talked with three from North Texas on Sunday who had never met before arriving in Iowa. They have been going door-to-door and said the voters were really interested in hearing their message.

We talked to some voters Monday, many of whom were undecided and said they'd be making a last-minute decision. So, representatives at caucuses really can make a big difference.

A Cruz spokesperson said they think they have the top ground-game here and hope to blow everybody out of the water.
