President George W. Bush Says His Father's Spirits Are High

President George W. Bush spoke at the Warrior Open Wednesday morning, a competitive golf tournament at Las Colinas Country Club that honors U.S. service members.

He sat down with The Golf Channel’s Rich Lerner, who asked him about his father, President George H.W. Bush.

Bush 41 fell over the summer at their summer home, and spent a few days in the hospital.

“He can’t play golf anymore, sadly, but his spirits are high. I’ll tell you a great story," said Bush about his father. "He is wheelchair-bound. He is sitting there in his house in Maine. Jenna had just gave birth to a little child."

“By the way, congratulations on second granddaughter,” said Lerner. “Second granddaughter, and Jenna named her Poppy Louise. My dad’s nickname was Poppy and I told him and a big tear kind of rolled down his cheek. It was a very sweet moment.”
