Power Surge Caught on Camera

Hundreds of customers affected

A car crash caused a power outage in Cleburne Sunday, impacting hundreds of people.

ONCOR spokesperson Chris Schein told NBC DFW that a car hit a light pole at the intersection of Graham Avenue and North Main Street on Sunday morning. That created a domino effect on the electrical equipment which resulted in the power outage.

Nearly 300 customers were affected. The electricity was restored by noon for most residents.

Matthew Spivey, an NBC viewer driving through Cleburne captured video of the overhead power lines arcing before the lights went out.
