First-class stamps cost $0.46 as of Jan. 27, 2013.
Postcards will now cost $0.33 to send via the United States Postal Service.
Forever stamps bought before the rate change will still cover postage.
Additionally, the postal service will now offer a "global forever stamp" for $1.10 that is good for first-class mail to anywhere in the world.
For anyone under the age of 18, a stamp was used to send real paper letters from one place to another. They are not required for e-mail.
