Porn Found, Money Missing From City Office

Three employees have resigned from the Grapevine Animal Shelter and Adoption Center after allegations of theft.

An internal audit uncovered thousands of dollars stolen over the past two years, said police spokesman Todd Dearing.

Two employees have admitted wrongdoing, resigned and have paid the city back $4,000 in missing money.  Their supervisor has also resigned.

Grapevine police detectives also found pornography at the facility, which is operated by the city. Police did not specify if the pornography was located on a computer or in some other form.

Investigators said they think the duo would pocket $40 fees when paid in cash. It was unclear what involvement, if any, their supervisor had in the alleged scheme.

NBCDFW is not reporting the names of the employees’ because they have not been formally charged with any crime.

Grapevine police are continuing to investigate, and the department said it will turn its findings over to the district attorney’s office.
