Police Investigate Sonic Restaurant Robberies

Police are investigating robberies at two different Sonic Restaurants that happened over the weekend.  The first robbery occurred at about 7:55 p.m. Friday at a Sonic Restaurant at 930 Fort Worth Drive.

Police said a man wearing a red jacket and a black ski mask entered through the front door of the restaurant and ordered everyone to the back.   He lifted the front of his shirt to reveal a revolver in his waistband and then ordered the manager to give him money, police said.

The man then left in a blue Dodge Magnum style station wagon with a luggage rack with an unknown amount of cash, police said.  Witnesses reported a partial license plate of 007.

The second robbery took place on Saturday at a Sonic Restaurant located at 109 N. Loop 288.  Police said a man wearing a red and white sports jersey, baggy jeans and a green ski mask walked in the front door, approached the manager saying, "Give me the money."

Police said the robber had his hand down into the front of his pants, giving the impression he had a weapon, but no weapon was seen.

After receiving an undetermined amount of cash the man exited the business and ran southwest to the Piggly Wiggly parking lot in a full-size blue double cab Chevrolet or GMC pickup.

Anyone with information about the robberies is asked to call 940-349-7995.
