Police: Texas Suspect to be Mentally Evaluated

A Central Texas man who police say fatally injured a disabled woman at an adult day center they attended will be mentally evaluated.

The Austin American-Statesman reported that 38-year-old Yancy Faulkner is being held on $175,000 bond at the Williamson County Jail on a charge of injuring a disabled elderly person. Police say 62-year-old Gracie Arguijo died Tuesday from neck and head wounds suffered in the Monday attack at the Virtue Cedar Park day habilitation center.

Police are working with county prosecutors to determine if other charges will be filed.

Cedar Park Police Chief Sean Mannix said Wednesday that a judge will order the mental evaluation for Faulkner.

Police said Faulker became upset with Arguijo after she woke him from a nap.

Online jail records did not indicate an attorney for Faulkner.
