Houston-area police have arrested a 17-year-old boy who they said stabbed a 57-year-old woman in the back as she was feeding stray cats at a park.
The Galveston County Daily News reported that the Dickinson teenager was being held Monday morning at the Galveston County Jail on a $50,000 bond. He is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Dickinson police said the woman was feeding the animals at the Paul Hopkins Park over the weekend when two teenagers approached her as she was leaning over. She was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries.
A 16-year-old boy was detained but not charged.
Police say they don't know what motivated the attack.
