Police Shoot, Kill Man in Domestic Dispute

Police in West Texas have fatally shot a man armed with a machete and a kitchen knife who charged at officers responding to a domestic dispute.

Lubbock police say 30-year-old Arnesto Ramos was pronounced dead Wednesday at a hospital.

Officers late Wednesday morning responded to a 911 call reporting that Ramos had become hostile at a residence. Authorities say Ramos refused police commands to put down his weapons.

Sgt. Jason Lewis says police at first shot Ramos with bean bag rounds but he continued to rush toward officers, who then opened fire with guns.

Police on Thursday did not immediately return a message.
