Police: 2 Shot in Grocery Store Altercation

Dallas police said two people were shot in a grocery store parking lot after an altercation Wednesday night.

Dallas Police Department officials said one of the gunshot victims  and the shooter were inside the Minyard Food Store in the 2100 block of East Ledbetter Drive when the argument began at about 9 p.m.

The argument continued as the two exited the store, where the second victim was waiting. The shooter drew a handgun and then shot both people, according to police.

One of the victims ran back into the grocery store and told a security officer, police said. The security guard exited the store, saw the shooter sitting in a white truck holding what he thought was a pistol and fired at him.

Police said the shooting suspect fled the scene and remains at large. They do not know if he was wounded.

Both shooting victims were taken to Baylor University Medical Center and are listed in stable condition.

A store employee told NBC 5 that the security guard was not injured.
