Police: Organized Theft Leads to Chase

Austin police said a 7-Eleven clerk helped orchestrate a robbery at the store.

Police have charged four people with a first-degree felony count of engaging in organized criminal activity, including 21-year-old employee Leah Gonzalez.

An off-duty Travis County jail deputy called police Saturday night to report an armed robbery. Reports said the robbers took $250 in cash and $6,000 in gift cards.

The deputy followed a gold minivan that contained the suspects until police arrived. They said the suspects led police on a chase through residential streets and on Interstate 35 that reached 120 mph. They said the clerk's boyfriend, brother and friend were arrested and that all four live together.

All four are being held in the Travis County jail on $125,000 bond. Online jail records didn't indicate attorneys.
