Police Investigate String of Break-In's Near Crowley

Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office detectives are looking for the person responsible for a string of burglaries and break-ins in the Carson’s Ranch Community near Crowley.

“If he finds an open window or open door he’s taking cash and then he’s leaving,” Investigator Richard Harwell said.

Across the community, family discussions have turned to topics of crime.

“It’s obviously getting closer and closer to our home which is a problem for me,” Lori Strittmatter said.

Detectives say the issues started in February and more cases keep coming.

“He came around my house and attempted to open my backdoor,” Lynn Crenshaw said.

“This week was a busy week. Every night this week there was a posting on Facebook of an attempt or a successful break-in,” Crenshaw added.

Neighbors are growing frustrated and angry.

“I’ve lived here for 15 years and never once have I not felt safe in this neighborhood until a few months ago,” Crenshaw said.

While peace of mind is priceless, they said there is a definite cost to the crimes.

“Probably close to $1,000 to put in the security cameras and security lights,” Crenshaw said.

“Probably close to $1,000 too I would say,” Strittmatter said.

Both police and neighbors have started late-night patrols. Police have video of a man at one families back door from early Friday morning. They ask anyone with information on that person’s identity to call 817-884-1212.
