1 Dead, Man in Custody After Leading Police to Victim

A man told police officers that "he might have killed somebody"

A man is in custody after he told police he might have killed somebody, then directed them to the victim early Sunday, Forest Hill police say.

The man was knocking on doors in the 3900 block of Mansfield Highway in Fort Worth, and police arrived they found the man walking in and out of the street, according to Forest Hill police chief Dan Dennis.

Fort Worth police detained him because they thought he might be a danger to himself, and in the process he told officers "he might have killed somebody," police said.

He led police to the Sunset Motel at 4100 Mansfield Highway in Forest Hill, where police found a female victim in a motel room. Police said she was treated at the scene and transported to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, where she was pronounced dead.

Custody of the man was transferred from Fort Worth police to Forest Hill police.
