A man was shot and killed at his daughter's day care by a gunman who then killed himself, Arlington police said.

Authorities say they believe a man fatally shot the husband of his psychological counselor before killing himself outside a day care center.

The victim was picking up his 3-year-old daughter, who was not injured.
It happened outside the Country Day School of Arlington Montessori.

Arlington police said Steve McIntosh, killed outside the day care on Friday evening, is married to a counselor at the University of Texas at Arlington.

A man was shot and killed at his daughter's day care by a gunman who then killed himself, Arlington police said.

She had been counseling the shooting suspect but recently stopped and referred him elsewhere. A spokesman for the Tarrant County medical examiner said he could not yet release his name early Saturday.

Police said they have no indication that the shooting suspect and the counselor had any relationship other than a professional one.

Employees told officers that they heard gunshots just after the man and his daughter walked outside.
