Police End Standoff on Garland Road

The person inside voluntarily came out and surrendered without incident

Dallas police ended a standoff Monday morning inside a business on Garland Road, near the Dallas Arboretum.

Police arrived to 10222 Garland Road at about 4:35 a.m. to a reported burglar inside a Rent-A-Tire.

When officers arrived, they found that the man cut a small open hole in the front garage and crawled through it to get inside the business. He set off the burglar alarm in the process.

Police arrived and saw movement inside the darkened store front and not knowing how many people were inside, called in SWAT.

Multiple police units were called to the scene, including SWAT and K-9 units.

The person inside voluntarily came out and surrendered to officers without incident.

Police never even made contact with him before he gave up.

Authorities have not released the man's name, but confirm that he was arrested just before 7 a.m.

No one was injured during the standoff.
