Here's a list of recent activities drawing the attention of Texas law enforcement. List compiled on Sept. 19, 2014.

Subway Employees Robbed While Unloading Truck
Two Subway employees were held up at gunpoint as they unloaded a trailer outside the restaurant on the 6300 block of Meadowbrook Drive early Friday morning. According to Fort Worth police, a man approached the pair an asked to use a mobile phone. The man then walked away but came back with a gun.  He demanded their wallets and phones and told them to wait in the trailer until he'd left. Neither of the men were injured in the robbery.

Man Shot After Trying to Steal Jewelry: Police Say
A man was shot when he tried to run off with a piece of jewelry during a private sale. According to police, an unnamed 27-year-old man went to a home on the 6800 block of Robinhood Lane at about 10 p.m. Thursday to meet with a 41-year-old man who was selling the jewelry. Police said the man tried to run off with the jewelry without paying for it when the property owner chased him and shot him one time. The injured man was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital where he is in stable condition and being treated for a non life-threatening gunshot wound. The property owner, who has also not been identified, was being interviewed by police. Officials have not yet said if any charges will be filed.

Student's Mask Sparks Concern, Rumors on Social Media
A Northwest High School student sparked a lot of conversation and concern on social media when she wore a mask to school this week. According to the district, the student was told she couldn't wear the mask and may have been disciplined — though the district wouldn't confirm that. Claims made that the girl was armed and was arrested are false and the district said there were no plots or threats made.  With Halloween around the corner, the district reminded all students that masks are not permitted at school.

Dallas Animal Services Rescues Restless Horses Left on I-30
Dallas Animal Services and Adoption Center provided relief to several horses left on the side of the road in a disabled trailer Thursday. According to an email from the department, the DAS manager was headed to the shelter when she spotted a truck and trailer full of "abandoned" horses on Interstate 30. The department later learned the owner had left the vehicle to find help after the truck broke down — meanwhile the heat and humidity were getting to the horses who were growing restless. DAS staff got the horses off the highway and to the shelter where they were able to be kept calm and cool until they were reunited with their owners.

Citizen Calls 911 as Man Tries to Pickup Teen Boy
The Johnson County Sheriff's Department and the Joshua police are looking for a man who tried to pick up a teenage boy near an elementary school Thursday. The child did not get into the vehicle and was not harmed. Still, an observant citizen saw what was going on and was able to get the license plate number off of the truck. Police are searching for the man. Read more here.
