Police Blotter: One Dead in Wrong-Way Wreck

Three accidents overnight keep Dallas Police and Dallas Fire-Rescue busy

Here's a daily list of recent activities drawing the attention of North Texas law enforcement. List compiled on March 18, 2012.

Fatal Wrong Way Wreck Closes I-20 Eastbound

Eastbound Interstate 20 at Bonnie View Road was closed for a short time Sunday morning as Dallas police investigate a fatal wrong way wreck.

Dallas police said a Chevrolet Suburban went the wrong way on the freeway and collided with another vehicle. A passenger in the Suburban was killed and both drivers were taken to Baylor Medical Center.

I-20 was backed up for miles, all the way back to Interstate 45. All lanes of traffic were moving once again as of 11:30 a.m.

Head-On Collision on Central Expressway

Another wreck in Dallas had southbound Central Expressway shut down overnight.

Dallas police said the head-on collision happened on Highway 75 near Woodall Rodgers Freeway.

Dallas Fire-Rescue had to cut one person out of the car on the freeway. Police have not released information on the condition of those injured in that accident.

Man Run Over in Club Parking Lot

One man was in the hospital Sunday morning after he was run over outside a Dallas nightclub Saturday night.

Dallas police said a fight broke out in the parking lot of Club Elm and Pearl, at the intersection the club is named for.

One officer saw the man pushed to the ground and run over by a vehicle,

Witnesses say a crowd helped lift the car enough for police to pull the man out from under the car.

The man was rushed to a nearby hospital and expected to survive his injuries.
