Police Blotter: Body Spotted on Roadside

Passerby Spots Dead Man on Side of Dallas Road
A 32-year-old man was found dead by a passerby along the 5700 block of Singleton Boulevard in Dallas Monday morning, police said. Police arrived and found the man, later identified as Jose Castillo of Dallas, dead from what appeared to be gunshot wounds. At the time, officers have no motive or suspect.

Recent Graduate Assaulted Outside Gas Station
A 17-year-old recent graduate was assaulted while leaving a Dallas gas station Friday evening. The man's family said he was leaving the Shell station at Abrams Road and Northwest Highway at about 8 p.m. when he was struck from behind, then beaten. The assault was caught on the store's security camera and the store manager said two men had been hanging at the store for a couple of hours around the time the assault happened. According to a statement from the victim's family, police were not interested in looking for any suspects and did not look at the security video.

Men Caught With Fake Media Credentials at NBA Finals
Two men were caught with fake credentials Sunday at the American Airlines Center during Game 3 of the NBA finals. Witnesses said the men's media credentials were laminated with the finals logo and the SIRIUS radio logo, but were obviously fake. According to witnesses, the men were not arrested, but are not allowed to return to the AAC for six months.
