Mother Arrested for Injury to Child
A two-year-old girl is in critical condition in the hospital and her mother, Elizabeth Escalona (pictured right) is charged with torturing her by gluing her hands to the wall, kicking the child and hitting her with a milk jug, according to the Dallas Morning News. Escalona’s daughter was listed in critical condition at Children’s Medical Center in Dallas Friday morning. Police said the torture began because the little girl soiled in her pants, and this was her punishment.  Dallas police child abuse detectives arrested Escalona, 22, for injury to a child. Child Protective Services has taken custody of the girl and three other siblings.

Two Bodies Pulled from Joe Pool Lake
The bodies of two men who disappeared at Joe Pool Lake on Monday were pulled from the water Thursday morning. Tommy Tran, 22, from Carrollton and Choung Tran, 27, from Grand Prairie slipped beneath the water near Estes Point south off Lynn Creek Park and were not seen again. Read more here.

Chimy’s in Fort Worth Robbed
Chimy's in the West Seventh Foch Street Warehouse District of Fort Worth was robbed Monday. Three men broke into the restaurant and stole the cash drawers and money from the safe. There weren’t any employees inside at the time of the alleged smash and grab.

Arlington Man Arrested After Standoff
An early-morning standoff in Arlington ended peacefully just after 9 a.m. after a man wanted on a capital murder warrant surrendered to police. According to officials, Arlington officers, along with U.S. Marshals and law enforcement from Arkansas, attempted to serve the Arkansas warrant to Kendrick Hampton at about 4:30 a.m. Friday.
