Police Blotter: Man Drowns at Lake Arlington

Man Drowns at Lake Arlington
Fort Worth firefighters said a 19-year-old man drowned late Sunday night while swimming in Lake Arlington. His mother called 911 after they lost sight of him and then couldn't locate him. Rescue crews pulled the man's body from the lake just after 10 p.m.

Man Barricades Himself in Arlington Apartment
Arlington police said a man suspected of killing his former girlfriend's mother surrendered to police Sunday night after a standoff at an apartment complex. Investigators said Luis A. Perez, 23, shot Maria Ramirez, 57, at an apartment in the 1600 block of South Oak Street on Sunday afternoon. Police said Perez was at the apartment to see his former girlfriend, who had a protective order against him issued in Johnson County. Police received a 911 call saying that Perez was inside an apartment in the 1400 block of Wiscasset Drive. Perez surrendered to police without further incident at about 9:15 p.m., investigators said.

Man Found Dead on I-35W in Denton County
Northlake police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found on Interstate 35W early Monday morning. The Denton County Sheriff's Office said the 21-year-old man was found lying facedown in front of his vehicle, which was partially in the roadway and blocking traffic in the northbound lane just north of Farm-to-Market 1171.
