Plano Pooches for Pennies on the Dollar

The Plano Animal Service's doghouse is getting a makeover, and it needs room for the renovations.

One of the large pods is getting an upgrade to make more space for the dogs and to increase the sanitation and comfort for the pooches.

To help with adoptions, the city is offering big discounts on dog adoptions this weekend only.

Dog adoptions will cost $30. The price includes a microchip, vaccines and sterilization.

VIP dogs only cost $25.

The shelter currently has more than 50 dogs ready for adoption, and their personalities can fit yours.

"We have the ones that want to sit down on your lap and cuddle. We have the older dogs that also need a home and want to relax on the couch with you and watch TV. We have the others that want to go on a jog with you or play fetch," said Tonya Gardner, of Plano Animal Services.
