Plano Man Accused of Child Indecency at Children's Hospital

A former employee at the Children’s Medical Center of Plano is charged with three counts of indecency with a child.

Plano police arrested Mohammad Ali, 45, on Tuesday morning.

Investigators say the alleged crimes were committed while Ali worked as a phlebotomist in the outpatient laboratory at the hospital on Preston Road.

He was employed at that location from March 2015 to December 2015.

Police say the investigation into Ali began December 29.

During the course of the investigation, detectives say additional offenses were discovered and they were also able to identify the suspect.

A spokesperson for Children’s Medical Center said Ali was fired on January 6.

“We are deeply disappointed and dismayed by this behavior, and this individual has been terminated from our organization. The protection and well-being of our patients and their families is our number one concern. These actions do not represent the mission and values of our organization and the many selfless professionals committed to providing quality care to the children of North Texas,” spokesperson Scott Summerall said. “We have cooperated fully with local authorities throughout the investigation and will continue to do so. We thank the Plano Police Department for their support and swift action in the matter.”

Ali is being held in the Collin County Jail on a $30,000 bond.

One of Ali's family members told NBC 5 they were surprised by the allegations.

In an arrest affidavit, Ali denied wrongdoing.

Plano police are asking that anyone with information related to these incidents to contact the Plano Police Department Tip Line at 972-941-2148.
