Plano ISD Dissolves Deputy Superintendent Position

Much of Millsaps College is in transition such as this classroom photographed, Thursday, June 22, 2006, in Jackson, MIss., as they prepare to become the summer training camp for the New Orleans Saints. Classrooms such as this one in Sullivan-Harrell Hall will be equipped with projectors and tables with chairs instead of the student desks to accomodate the football players attending their specialization meetings. The Deputy Superintendent of the Plano Independent School District is out of a job and more cuts may be on the way.

The district is eliminating the position held by Danny Modisette due to a $65 million budget shortfall.

By not having to pay his salary, the district is saving a reported $190,000.

Administrators said the elimination of that job is only one cutback and that more layoffs are possible, including teachers.
