Plano Burglary Suspect Arrested on More Charges

Plano police said they have now connected burglary suspect Randall Kirk to at least six break-ins in the city. Since the fall, more than a dozen home burglaries have been reported in city limits.

"We’re hoping that we’ll be able to determine he’s the one responsible for all these burglaries that have taken place so we don’t have another person out there committing these crimes," said Plano Police Department Spokesman Officer David Tilley.

Kirk was initially arrested on Dec. 6, but posted bond. He was rearrested and booked into the Collin County Detention Center on Dec. 15. He is now facing four felony burglary charges and two felony drug possession charges.

On Dec. 10, Plano police report two more break-ins happened within city limits, this time, on Cloverhaven Way. Tilley said the department is investigating a possible connection.

"There is potential he could be connected to those as well, and it’s something we’re looking into,” he said.

According to a probable cause affidavit obtained by NBC 5, Kirk was caught on surveillance video using a victim’s stolen credit card in Hutchins. The affidavit also reports he allegedly gave stolen property as a gift to one of his relatives, who became suspicious and eventually made contact with police.

Police have been able to recover and return some stolen property to its original owners. Tilley said Plano police are contacting neighboring cities to find additional victims.
