Pinwheel Project Recognizes Child Abuse Awareness Month

April is Child Abuse Awareness month, and the Arlington Police Department and the Alliance for Children are teaming up to raise awareness by placing pinwheels in front of the Ott Cribbs Public Safety building Sunday at 3 p.m.

The blue and pink pinwheels will serve as reminders of the victims.

Alliance for Children is Tarrant County's non-profit organization that serves as an advocacy center to protect and heal child abuse victims. The Alliance For Children is directly involved in reported child abuse cases through coordinated investigations with law enforcement, Child Protective Services, Cook Children's Medical Center, and the District Attorney's Office.

The local "Pinwheel Project" was first coordinated by the Alliance For Children as part of their commitment to bringing awareness to the issue of child abuse and the importance of prevention.
