Pilot Survives Crash of Twin-Engine Plane in Ellis County

Officials say a plane that apparently lost power in both engines crashed late Thursday morning in a muddy Ellis County field.

The crash occurred near Ferris, about 20 miles south of Dallas, leaving the Beechcraft B-60 without its nose or left engine but otherwise intact.

A Federal Aviation Administration statement says the pilot was alone in the plane and suffered minor injuries in the crash.

FAA spokesman Lynn Lunsford says the pilot reported both engines lost power on a flight from the Addison Airport to Mexia.

Further details weren't immediately available.
