A man armed with a shotgun was shot and killed Friday morning trying to burglarize an East Dallas home, police say.[[367823201,R]]
Dallas police officers were dispatched to the 8900 block of Freeport Drive at about 10:15 a.m. after a shooting was reported.
When officers arrived, the found the suspected burglar dead at the scene.
Police later tweeted the man was attempting to burglarize the residence with a shotgun when he was shot and killed by someone who lived at the home.
No other injuries have been reported.
Officials have not said if the resident is expected to face any charges.
An investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
