State Rests in Penalty Phase of Eric Williams Murder Trial

A Rockwall County jury is considering life in prison or the death penalty for Eric Williams this week as the sentencing phase continues in his murder trial.

The penalty phase began Monday morning and continued into Wednesday where prosecutors displayed weapons, explosives and napalm they said they recovered from Williams' storage room.

The state rested in the punishment phase at about 11:30 a.m. Wednesday without expected testimony from Williams' estranged wife.

The defense will begin presenting their case at 12:45 p.m.
