Online Threat Prompts Extra Security at Keller ISD School

A photo of a threat circulating on social media is causing major concerns at a high school in the Keller Independent School District.

Now, officials say students can expect extra security Friday on campus at Timber Creek High School.

The photo of a message written on a bathroom wall has been re-tweeted hundreds of times, so the district addressed it all through social media as well.

In a Facebook post to parents Thursday, Keller ISD said:

"There is a screenshot of a picture on Twitter of a threatening message written on a tile wall. While this is still under investigation, there is no indication at this time that this is related to Timber Creek or any Keller ISD school. Though we are notable to find the source on Twitter, the screenshot of the picture continues to circulate raising concern. In light of this, we are continuing our investigation and will increase our security on the TCHS campus Friday and will plan for a normal school day."

Some parents have commented that they need more information before they feel safe sending their children to school.

The district, however, said besides the extra security on campus, they are planning for a normal day.
