McArter captured in Rockwall

A Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitive sought on parole violation, larceny and drug charges has been caught in the Dallas area.

The Texas Department of Public Safety on Friday announced the arrest of 29-year-old Andrew Michael McArter.

Officials said a lead was supplied by the assigned crime analyst to the Texas DPS Criminal Investigations Division regarding McArter's possible location.  DPS officials said McArter was captured Wednesday afternoon as he arrived at a residence in Rockwall at about 4:30 p.m.

McArter had been on the state's Most Wanted list for less than 24 hours.

Investigators said McArter is a member of the white supremacist Aryan Brotherhood. His criminal history includes possessing/transporting anhydrous ammonia, assault, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and resisting/evading arrest.

McArter in 2000 was linked to 17 burglaries, leading to his conviction for engaging in organized criminal activity.

McArter's arrest was not as a result of tip and no reward will be paid, officials said.
