Teen Killed, Others Injured in Single Car Crash in Johnson County

A 17-year-old was killed in a single car crash in Johnson County Friday, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Dustin Roye was riding in the backseat of a 1995 Chevrolet Geo Prism with four other teens when the car slid off County Road 1121 and crashed into a tree at about 1 p.m. The collision ejected Roye from the vehicle -- he was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Others injured in the crash were taken by a medical helicopter to Walls Regional Hospital; their conditions are not known. Three of the hospitalized victims are 17 and one is 14-years-old.

The teens were on their way home from Brazos River Charter School in Nemo where they are all students.

DPS officials said crash scene investigators are working to determine who was sitting where in the car and what led to the crash.
