1 Dead, 1 Arrested in Fiery Crash: Dallas Police

Police said they arrested a driver after a fiery hit-and-run crash in Dallas that left one person dead Monday night. [[380626991,C]]

Dallas police said the driver of a Toyota Prius was heading north on West Mockingbird Lane when the driver of a Dodge Challenger crashed into the Prius at about 10:20 p.m. The Prius caught fire upon impact.

Firefighters had to the vehicle's roof off to access the victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim's identity has not been released.

The driver of the Challenger fled the scene, but was taken into custody after the vehicle was disabled on Irving Boulevard. The driver was transported to the Lew Sterrett Jail and charged with failure to stop and render aide.

The crash remains under investigation.
