One Dead in Dallas Drive-By Shooting

Fight leads to fatal shooting, police say

Dallas police are searching for the gunman involved in a fatal drive-by shooting late Monday night on the city's east side.

The shooting happened at about 10 p.m. in the 2400-block of North Garrett Avenue, about one mile off of the Knox Street-Henderson Avenue exit of U.S. 75.

Investigators found two men inside of a car in the 2500-block of North Garrett, both of whom had been shot.  It's believed the victims drove away from the shooting scene but stopped one block away.

Both victims were rushed to Baylor Medical Center, where one of the men was pronounced dead.

The Dallas County Medical Examiner's office has identified the victim as Victor Carmona, 19, of Dallas.  The other gunshot victim has not yet been identified.

Dallas police believe that there had been a fight between the victims and the gunman prior to the shooting.

So far, no description of the shooter has been released.
