Arlington police are investigating a quadruple shooting at the Spring Crest Apartments overnight that left one man dead and three others hospitalized.
Homicide detectives are busy investigating a deadly shooting at an apartment complex in Arlington.
Four people were shot at the Spring Crest Apartments in the 2000 block of Spring Walk Lane, just west of state Highway 360, early Friday morning.
One man died at the scene and the three others — two men and a woman — were rushed to the hospital with serious injuries. Arlington police said the three are expected to survive.
Police haven’t yet been able to locate any witnesses to the shooting.
“It's a large crime scene, it's spread over several locations, so this will be an intensive search by crime scene investigators and the detectives are canvassing the entire apartment complex trying to see if we can find any witnesses,” said Sgt Jeffrey Houston, with the Arlington Police Department.
The shooting happened at about 1:15 a.m. Friday. Crime scene investigators recovered more than a dozen shell casings in the apartment parking lot and they also found drugs and a gun at the crime scene. Investigators said it’s an expansive crime scene that spans several apartment buildings.
“It's very spread out. They're all challenging, it's a very technical job and that's why we have crime scene investigators who are experts at that, but it’s much more time consuming when you add in extra locations and objects, because it has to be thoroughly documented and ready for court down the road,” Houston said.
No word yet on a suspect or motive for the shooting. Detectives said they’ll be at the scene all morning long.
