One Dead, One Injured in Dallas Crash

One person is dead and one person was injured after the car they were in crashed into a pole in Dallas overnight.

Eyewitnesses tell NBC 5 two cars were racing at the time of the crash.

Dallas police say a blue Ford Crown Victoria was possibly racing a green Grand Marquis at a high rate of speed eastbound in the 8000 block of Great Trinity Forest Way.

Dallas police say 23-year-old Frank Bellamy Jr. crashed the Crown Victoria into a metal traffic light pole at a curve in the road just before the C.F. Hawn Freeway.

Bellamy died from his injuries, police say a passenger in his car was taken to Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas with non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to recover.
