One person died in an overnight crash on Interstate 45 early Wednesay morning.

Investigators said an 18-wheeler crashed near the Linfield/Illinois exit at about 2 a.m. and then caught on fire with one person still inside.

Early into the investigation, according to NBCDFW.com reporter Julie Tam, it appears the driver lost control of the truck. The truck then ran off of the right side of the freeway and down the embankment before it crashed into a large sewer hole.

The on-ramp is shut down indefinitely. It took crews nearly four hours to clean up the crash.
