Roughly 6,500 customers lost power Thursday morning and Oncor is reporting that about 1,800 customers are still without power in south Dallas, as of 9 a.m.

The outages were between Interstate 35E and south of Interstate 30 in the Oak Cliff area. The number of customers without power affects as many as 10,000 people.

Oncor said a vehicle hit a utility pole shortly before 4 a.m. cutting power in the area.

Oncor's website states some customers may not have power back until 4:30 p.m.
