Olympian Madison Kocian Arrives Home in North Texas

Olympic gold medalist and North Texan Madison Kocian is arriving home from the Rio Olympic Games Wednesday.

"Really thankful to have the support back here," Kocian said. "I know everyone was cheering for me at home, so you know everything was very crazy, but I'm happy to come home and finally sleep in bed after five weeks, so I'm very excited."

After arriving at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport just after noon Wednesday, the Olympian took several minutes to chat with the media before posing with family, friends, teammates and young fans inside the terminal.

To younger gymnasts hoping to follow in her footsteps, she offered this advice, "never give up, you know there's tough days and injuries here and there so, I think that's the main message just to keep believing in themselves and never give up."

Kocian, 19, didn't take a direct flight home from the games -- she, and her teammates, stopped first in New York for an appearance Tuesday on 'The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.'

The Final Five joined Fallon, actor Donald Glover and in a game -- a giant version of Hungry Hungry Hippos.

Kocian, who trained at WOGA in Plano, where gold medalists Carly Patterson and Nastia Liukin trained, plans to attend UCLA.
