Off-Duty DPD Officer Carjacked at Gas Station

An off-duty Dallas police officer was robbed and carjacked at a Plano gas station early Friday morning.

Plano police said the officer was at a Racetrac gas station in the 600 block of East Plano Parkway around 3:20 a.m. Friday when she was approached by a person with a weapon.

The robber took the officer's personal car, which contained a handgun and a police badge. Plano police are still investigating what other items may have been inside the car when it was taken.

Dallas Police Chief David Brown said the officer was shaken by the event but uninjured. Brown said the officer is unlikely to face disciplinary action "as victim of criminal act."

A statement from Racetrac said: "Our thoughts are with the guest involved in this morning's incident. RaceTrac is fully cooperating with local authorities, as our primary concern is the health and safety of our guests, team members and others in the areas."
