Occupy Protesters Ejected From Dallas School Board Meeting

Teachers also demonstrated outside meeting

Longer work days without any extra pay drew about 30 Dallas schoolteachers wearing masks to Thursday night's school board meeting.

The teachers chanted and waved signs outside the auditorium before the meeting began.

The Dallas Independent School District board has already approved a measure that extends teachers' workdays by 45 minutes.

While teachers were protesting outside, members of the Occupy Dallas movement went inside for a demonstration of their own.

The Occupy protesters said they were at the meeting to bring attention to several recent decisions by the school board, including one to close 11 schools.

The group had everyone's attention in the auditorium when they were ejected from the meeting. Board President Lew Blackburn ordered security to take them out of the auditorium.
